Janai Imani, the visionary behind Black Girl Bible, is a passionate advocate for empowering young women through faith. As a young black woman herself, Janai has experienced firsthand the unique challenges that come with navigating society. She created Black Girl Bible to provide a safe and inspiring space where young women can grow spiritually, find their purpose, and strengthen their relationship with God.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration, Janai combines her academic background with her passion for inspiring others. A first-generation Jamaican American originally from New York, she now resides in Atlanta, where she continues to uplift and empower others.

Through her podcast, Janai shares her personal journey, offering Godly advice rooted in the Bible on how to overcome obstacles, build self-worth, and live a life that honors God. Her authentic and relatable approach resonates deeply with her audience, encouraging them to embrace their identity in Christ and walk confidently in their calling.
Black Girl Bible was born out of a deep passion for Jesus and a desire to connect with other young women on a similar faith journey. For as long as she can remember, Janai Imani has had a love for Christ, nurtured by growing up in church. However, it wasn’t until college that she truly felt challenged to deepen her relationship with God and experience Him in a new and more profound way.

During this transformative season, Janai yearned for a mentor—someone who could guide her through the complexities of life from a similar perspective. She longed for a community of young
women who were also seeking to grow in their faith. When she searched for faith-based podcasts that could meet this need, she found herself coming up short. It was then that God placed a calling on her heart: to stand in the gap and create something that would serve the very community she was searching for.

Thus, Black Girl Bible was born—a podcast that doesn’t aim to teach but to share. Janai’s unique approach is rooted in authenticity; she invites listeners into her personal faith journey, sharing the lessons she’s learning as she walks with God. This podcast is more than just a platform; it’s a safe space where young women can grow together, explore their faith, and find encouragement.

Janai firmly believes in the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She’s confident that God has something extraordinary planned for this community and is excited to see how He will continue to move through the podcast.
